Minutes of the Monthly Parish Meeting of The Moulton’s Parish Council held on Tuesday 1st April 2025 at Moulton Seas End Village Hall

 

Present: Cllr Sneath, Wright, Wakefield, Woolf, Hahn, Ingham, Cooper, CCllr Gibson, 1 member of the public, and Parish Clerk.

 

 

1) Chairman’s welcome 

Chairman welcomed everyone to the April meeting.

 

2) Public Forum 

Member of the public concerned about the pot holes on Fold Lane. CCllr Gibson agreed to look into this.

Cemetery

The Clerk explained that the Co-op would like us and/or grave diggers to sign a contract to accept liability for a range of circumstances should they occur. Agreed by all to not sign any contracts with the co-op.

Options discussed for cutting the large square in the cemetery corner. Proposed by Cllr Sneath, seconded Cllr Wright, agreed to let another local contractor cut the square in the cemetery no more than once a month for £40.

Type of memorial tree discussed for the cemetery.

Due to be sprayed soon and Sneath’s have warning sign ready to go up to inform residents.

9)Highways

Cllr Wright raised concerns about the state of Roman Bank again in Moulton Seas End.

Cllr Hahn explained he had also reported Long Lane again for pot holes etc.

Cllr Woolf stated the verge has still not been fixed Broad Lane. Chairman suspended standing orders for CCllr Gibson to explain that Highways had been out to assess and nothing could be done. CCllr Gibson also stated he had raised the flooding on and around the village green in Moulton again.

Cllr Woolf suggested to apply for funding.

 

 

14) Moulton Chapel

Parage grant application of £400 agreed Chairman’ decision.

 

Cllr Woolf explained about the parade float and the lack of interest from children and families wanting to be involved.

 

 

15) SID Report 

 

Max speed of 70mph recorded Station Road, Moulton. Sid will now be turned around to monitor outgoing traffic.

 

 

16) Correspondence 

 

Spring Litter Pick 5th April

Resident has asked if MPC would consider publicising why the precept is the figure it is each year in the future.

20) If necessary, to consider passing a resolution under section 100A(4) of the Local Government Act 1972, to exclude the press and public from the meeting in order to discuss any items of business that may involve the disclosure of exempt information as defined in those paragraphs of Part 1 of Schedule 12A of that Act as amended by the Local Government Access to Information (Variation) Order 2006.
