Minutes of the Monthly Parish Meeting of The Moulton’s Parish Council held on Tuesday 7th January 2025 at Moulton Seas End Village Hall

 

Present: Cllr Sneath, Wright, Woolf, Tibbs, Ingham, Henderson, Kirk, Cooper, and Parish Clerk

 

 

1) Chairman’s welcome 

Cllr Sneath (vice chair) welcomed everyone to the meeting.

Cemetery

Cllr Woolf asked the Clerk who is responsible for straightening headstones if they have moved. The families of descendants are responsible via a stonemason.

Churchyard

Resident living adjacent is concerned about a tree overhanging their property that they think is dead and needs removing. Clerk is currently trying to get confirmation that the tree is dead and quotes for removal.

All ok.

 

8)Police

South Holland Parish Council engagement session January. Questions may be put forward before 14th January.

Agreed to forward the question… ‘How does the parish get a visible presence in the villages now we no longer have a PCSO?’

 

9)Highways

Clerk and councillors met with Highways in the daytime in regards to the drainage in MSE and flooding in Woodgate Road, Moulton Chapel. Cllr Sneath explained the dates and plan for the works. This includes the use of MSE Village Hall car park and Moulton Chapel Community Centre car park for siting a welfare unit and materials for the duration.

The poor state of River Lane discussed including the potential of a one-way system which was agreed would not help the situation. Agreed to contact CCllr Gibson and make him aware of the poor state of the Lane and ask about the possibility of some flashing speed awareness signs potentially sited on the A151 at the top of Fold Lane. Also agreed to mention the crumbling verge and road Broad Lane, the flooding at Moulton Village Green and the verge on a bend before entering MSE.

Church Lane in need of a bigger dog bin. Agreed Clerk to add to Fix my street again.

Street name, rear of war memorial will be ‘Vianna Close’ in tribute to a family member of previous land owner.

Agreed for the Clerk to get new quotes for the advisory speed banners if current company cannot now produce the banners.

 

 

15) SID Report 

 

Max speed of 60mph recorded coming out of Common Road MSE. The machine is now on Bell Lane.
