DRAFT Minutes of the Monthly Parish Meeting of The Moulton’s Parish Council held on Tuesday 3rd June 2025 at Moulton Chapel Community Centre

 

Present: Cllr Sneath, Woolf, Kirk, Tibbs, Ingham, Henderson, Cooper, CCllr Condell and Dist. Cllr Casson, Mr Adcock of the Moulton Park committee, and Parish Clerk.

 

 

1) Chairman’s welcome 

Vice Chairman welcomed everyone to the June meeting.

 

2) Public Forum 

Mr Adcock gave an update on how the park is progressing. CCllr Condell introduced himself to councillors.

Cllr Woolf gave an update on the Meridian Solar project. The Vice Chairman suspended standing orders for Dist. Cllr Casson to give his views and CCllr Condell to explained the questions he had asked and they had not been answered and his concerns.

The Vice Chairman put standing orders back in place.

 

12) Moulton Ward

Cllr Henderson explained that High Street now has a new sign.

Cllr Tibbs asked if there was an update on a larger bin for the top of Church Lane. The current small hanging bin is still in place.

 

13) M S E Ward

Clerk gave an update on play equipment installation including an extra emergency cost of £262.19 plus vat for top soil and to level and compact. Agreed to pay the additional fee proposed by Cllr Sneath and seconded by Cllr Kirk.

Cllr Geoff gave a Village Hall update.

 

14) Moulton Chapel

The new 50mph banners discussed.

Standing orders suspended for CCllr Condell to inform councillors of pot holes due to be repaired on Woodgate Road and Chekhira Avenue.

 

15) SID Report 

Max speed of 80mph recorded on Fen Gate.

Sid will be situated further along Fen Gate near the bus shelter.

 

16) Correspondence 

Devolution was discussed and what we know so far was explained by Cllr Woolf.

Standing orders were suspended briefly for Dist. Cllr Casson to speak of his views and the very small amount that is known about the potential future.

 

Leaving gift/donation for the editor of The Village Voice discussed and agreed a donation of £50 proposed by Cllr Tibbs and seconded by Cllr Henderson.

 

17) Items asked to be included on Agenda during the last meeting.

Village Hall grants discussed. Proposed by Cllr Woolf and seconded by Cllr Kirk to give a grant of £500 this year to each hall subject to an explanation in writing of what assets it would be used for. All agreed.
