Minutes of the Monthly Parish Meeting of The Moulton’s Parish Council held on Tuesday 2nd July 2024 at Moulton Community Centre

 

Present: Cllr Wakefield (Chair), Kirk, Tibbs, Hahn, Sneath, Wright, Woolf, Ingham, and Parish Clerk.

CCllr Pepper and eight members of the public.

 

1) Chairman’s welcome 

The Chairman welcomed everyone to the July meeting.

 

2) Public Forum 

A MSE resident spoke in depth of their concerns regarding planning application H13-0524-24 (children’s home). Agreed that the Parish Council would submit comments to support the concerned residents.

 

Members of the Green Group and PCC introduced themselves. A member of the Green Group explained they would like a meeting with the Parish Council to discuss the maintenance of the churchyard long term. A member of the public explained they had seen youths drinking/drug taking in the overgrowth at the rear of the churchyard. It was agreed a meeting would be arranged between the parties along with the contractor.

 

A MSE resident asked if the grass could be cut around the edge of the war memorial. Cllr Kirk agreed to ask the land owner at the rear.

Cllr Sneath reported to the councillors some comments made from local Moulton residents since the last meeting regarding how the churchyard was now looking.

The Chair suspended standing orders so CCllr Pepper could speak as Cllr Woolf asked if we would have any more funding for our local roads. Cllr Sneath agreed to forward a list of local roads once he had received.

12) Moulton Ward

Park benches discussed and agreed to purchase the original plastic benches. Proposed by Cllr Wright, seconded Cllr Kirk. All agreed.

 

Cllr Kirk to adapt the size of the original planning application for Moulton Park play area and send out to councillors by the end of July to view before the next meeting.

 

Electric on the village green discussed, proposed to go ahead if the total cost was under £6000 (and the permissions are authorised) by Cllr Kirk and seconded Cllr Woolf. Majority agreed.

 

Cllr Sneath explained what meetings he has attended to date in relation to the Meridian solar project and what information has been distributed.

 

Proposed by Cllr Woolf and seconded by Cllr Kirk to donate £500 to the MCA for heating upgrades.

 

Clerk to ask SHDC whether a larger bin could be purchased and emptied to replace a small one currently in place in Church Lane.

 

13) M S E Ward

A sprayer crashed into the play area fence. Awaiting other parties’ insurance company to authorise quote to go ahead and be fixed.

 

14) Moulton Chapel

Cllr Sneath explained a resident has complained about dust from the soil at the ‘Ski slope development.’ Clerk to contact Allison Homes.

 

15) SID Report 

Max speed of 60mph Bell Lane, Moulton. Now sited at Station Road, Moulton.

 

 

16) Correspondence 

Village Voice 4th July agreed to include the Meridian and Pylon schemes.

 

Resident has contacted the Clerk to ask if the council required and small oak trees.
